I wish ANet approves of this and this doesn't modify anything but graphics... |||There have been threads about this on guru and (I think) here. No conclusive decision whether it is safe or not.

The app was released a month ago and I've been lurking this site actively since the end of June and I haven't seen a thread 'bout this here yet. On Guru there is a thread of this, though.

I tried the GWDressUp and haven't been banned yet. I do not know of any server-side alterations it may make but all the effects I've seen have been client-side only and not visible to anyone else. I asked a friend if he can see my armor changing and he said no, he only sees the armor I wore before I started messing around with GWDU.

There is also this month-old thread on guildwars.com where we can see Gaile Gray and the folks answering some but not all questions.|||When the **** did GW get official forums?

I think it's more like 2 months (seems longer to me for some reason), but yes, you're right, no threads here I can find.

I was less concerned about it being a program they'd ban you over (it's just looks that only show up on your screen as you said) than I am worried about trojans or other malicious code. Argos' gwEstimator is a very, very handy tool for price checks, but I get a bit antsy about downloading 3rd party programs where account hacking is a problem.

And of course, just because they don't ban you right away doesn't mean they won't ban you 2 months or a year from now, so that's not really a good test unfortunately.|||i don't know for sure but i do think it is add-ware, i tried it for a bit and then closed it to surf a bit.

i immediately got some kind of unwanted security program installed in my computer, i restarted my pc before it could do anything but it's better to avoid this program.|||Quote:
