.|||Do these panes make my chest look fat?|||Well gee... this sounds really neat and all, but... it'd require that I register my account or accounts with the NCsoft control panel. And again... I can't really trust that thing.
I mean, remember when they offered FREE panels?
And how many got bit in the *** over that?
I'd pay FULL price if I could be assured that linking my account won't end up hurting me in the long run.
Also, I'd preffer to have different control panels per account, but use the same credit card for each panel, which... if I did that, would get me in trouble.
So again... nice deal, not happening. Not until they get that part of this fixed.
You know, something I WISH they'd do, is take all these things they've offered,
the outfits, the panels, the BMP, and put them on a gift card that you can physicly BUY from places like best buy or gamestop.
That way we wouldn't have to mess with linking accounts to board, and we could even buy gift cards for friends and pass them along if we wanted to, without having to worry about it being an RMT deal.|||As far as I recall, there was no correlation between registering with NCSoft and getting hacked. I may be seriously out of the loop but... it's just the ingame store, right? I've purchased a storage upgrade from the ingame store (a VERY long time ago) and it didn't "hurt" my account in any way.

I think this is correct. You DID need your NCSoft master account info for the free storage pane give-away. That was a slight pain for those of us (guilty) that had forgotten/misplaced that login info. But this promotion should just be as straightforward as purchasing a character slot.|||Last I checked, to get anything from the GW online store, you gotta have the account registered with a playNC account.

And yes, accounts that had registered with a playNC account were among the most who got hacked.
MAYBE they've upped the security level, especially after one of their own got hacked, but...
I seriously do not want to find out in 4 months or 10 months, or a year down the road that there's ANOTHER hole in NCsoft's security that some people got into and slammed some accounts, and then anet refusing to re-compensate anyone who lost stuff because of it.
Long and short of it, I don't trust NCsoft.

Oh... Oh, well... if I had to register my account with an NCSoft service or something in order to use the store, then I've definitely done that. And I did it before EotN was on store shelves. I've never been hacked or had anything happen to require any kind of compensation.
Naturally it's your choice if you don't want to use this stuff, but I see no genuine reason to distrust NCsoft. They haven't received a single dishonest penny from me.|||It's understandable to be scared after what happened...
Just pointing out that ANet might know what happened, but we don't. All we had as a community was wild speculation, no real evidence.
I for one don't remember seeing a Chi2 done on a data matrix of hacked (or not) x PlayNC account (or not).
Oh, and here's one piece of your data that is flawed. I bought EotN via online purchase a good 2 years before the free pane promotion... so you definitely don't need to register with PlayNC to use the store.
