Okay folks, you've probably all had a chance to admire the new costumes released with Winds of Change. Now's your chance to win some codes. ArenaNet has given the site 4 codes to give away to promote the new content!



Here's what you have to do to earn a chance to win one:

If you had the chance to create and lead a new Ministry for the Canthan Empire, what would you call it and what function would it serve?

The mod team will vote on their favorites and I'll announce winners next week.|||They would be called the Disciples. As part of the discipleship, their ministry is to intermediate and strive for peace among fighting factions. However, this tends to always get them in trouble with those same factions, who claim they are siding with one or the other. Peacekeeping is always such a headache. Besides helping the Luxons and Kurzicks, they also work with the Am Fah and Jade brotherhood. They also have strange quirks, and desire only to eat food that does not have a face, and thus are against the killing of any animals. So while they are voracious plant killers, they abhore anyone killing any type of beasts and prefer to run or avoid those encounters themselves. They also believe in giving back to the world, and they gain points by giving up gold or items they have obtained. These items are given randomly to poor players who have applied for aid. Players can open random welfare chests to find items or gold items that the Disciples have donated. They have also instituted a very popular quest series called, guildcaching. This is where you obtain clues from special Disciple ministers and they lead you to find special hidden caches of unique items. You have to recognize prior missions or scenes to be able to find the caches which change regularly, like Nicholas the Travelor.|||Ministry of the Nature. Protecting the orange tabby cats of Kaineng City, baby turtles of the Jade Sea and the re-emerging plants and ever-so harassed black moa birds of the Echovald. Ministry of Murder

"Because the people have the right to know."

Responsible for improving transparency of other Ministries, the MoM is the Ministry that is most in touch with the population. Quite literally. The MoM is frank and honest in what it does, as is reflected in its name. We aren't afraid to tell you exactly what it is we do, unlike most other ministries. Any question you may have regarding the functions of the other ministries and the Empire will receive an honest answer. I can't find it in this damned city.", we even have an answer for specific questions like "Whose bright idea was it to force-feed Afflicted Dwarven Gunpowder and Istani Fire Oil and release them back into the Wild?" and "Why haven't I won a Costume Code Contest before?".

Entry 2)

Ministry of the Crane

"You will party until you drop dead or die trying."

The Ministry of the crane is responsible for festivities and Culture. You might wonder, why a crane? Because it's grace and beauty is a symbol of Canthan culture. And just look at it, what a silly bird, it just scream "get drunk and kick me", hence Culture and Festivities.

Now you may think "a Ministry doing nothing but partying, partying, yeah and culture? Where can I sign in for this dream job?". Well, simply right here. The Ministry of the Crane is always looking for new sla-Initiates to help out! Now, you may have notices how the city is, well, a dump. As such, Culture has pretty much been thrown completely out of the window and most of our activities now involve entertaining the Emperor so he doesn't get bored and burns the city down. You will be abused both physically and mentally. Only two thoughts will run through your head; "How can I please the Emperor?" and the glorious joy it must be to stab the bastard in the back. Luckily, thanks to your official Shocking Crane Headband, it will be mostly the former and agonizing pain.

Those few lucky and hardly working ones will be sent to Shing Jea Island, where they will be forced to wear silly masks and fight for their lives against men and women who have slain a god. Be sure to put up a good fight and try not to lose to many limbs, you unstoppable party animals! The rest will focus largely on entertaining the Emperor with constant partying and drinking lethal amounts of alcohol. Or you may participate in games like "pin the Katana on the servant", "Dance Dance Revolutionaries", "Hangman" or "Life". And how could we forget about the orgies. So, so many orgies. You will share the company of several men, women, oxes, horses, pigs, cats and the occasional Afflicted for orgies that span days.

You wish to go home and get to bed for some sleep? You silly peasant, after signing our contract, we contacted our friends of the Ministry of Flame and had your house torched. There is no escape.

So party like you mean it and keep going until you drop! Everybody dance now!

I think this is a just a fun topic even apart from the contest so I'm not limiting anyone's number of entries. You can win at most one code though.|||The Ministry for Magic

This is basically just as ineffective as the allready existing ministries (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) but it replaces all of them, taking care of everything in one big ineffective blob. Of course there are budget cuts coming along with such a merger, so therefre alot of people will be fired and actually have to work for a living.

Oh and the head of the ministry is called Cronelia Funge and she's very paranoid that somone will take her position from her.|||The Ministry of Mystery.

The Ministry of Mystery would have several functions in Cantha, the first one being

After interacting with Asurans who are tech savvy, a ministry has been created to research into applying and duplicating such technologies so that they can be used to maintain stability in Kaineng City. The base of the ministry is also located close to the home of the Asura in Cantha. Due to the complexity of the work, only the top imperial students are able to make the test and work in the ministry.

The emperor oversees the achievements of the ministry and appoints the best scholars to the top positions in the ministry based on merit.|||if i had a chance to create and lead a ministry , it will be a ministry of health , to treat all the afflicted ! ^^|||The Ministry of Steel

In order to de-fang the local gangs and keep the Kurzick/Luxon conflict firmly under Imperial control, a new ministry has been established to ensure that weapons are carried only by Imperial guardsmen and other proper government officials. Citizens of the Empire have been given a month's time to turn in their weapons to the authorities without penalty, after which time a nationwide search will be undertaken to guarantee compliance with the new laws. The confiscated weaponry will be used to arm the guards; any surplus will be sold to Tyrian and Elonian buyers to fund the initiative. Citizens in forested areas who rely on hunting for their livelihoods may apply for a shortbow permit.

The Ministry of Shadow

Having found the Empire's intelligence network to be unacceptably slow, the Emperor has established a new ministry designed to gather information. Agents have been dispersed covertly to be the Emperor's eyes and ears. Any additional details remain confidential.

The Ministry of Life

After the terrible bungling of Kaineng's homeless population following the plague, a new ministry has been established to handle the medical care and other needs of Kaineng's poor. They have been tasked to handle the distribution of supplies without needing prior approval from the other ministries. They also have field workers in the various neighborhoods to identify the needs of the populace and make sure that those needs are met in a timely manner.
