The Commandos Are Here

[:1]

GM transcript from Embark Beach American District 1.

At this point I grabbed the update and returned.

Logging off for now, feel free to post any more transcripts if the GMs- I mean Commandos- show up again.|||General Stumme? Why does that sound familiar?

Wonder if it's possible to win? Not much time to read what the skills are, looks like lots of trial and error..|||Lv 40 Moahawk...

Also QUESTS!

You have to save Sarah from the Anihilator robot...

2,029 xp

1,984 Vanguard Rep

Quote:

[Character name]: "That can't be; time travel is impossible! No one has that technology yet, not even the Asura!"

Corporal Bane: "Not yet. Not for about 250 years."

Chronomancer?|||Is that Sarah Connor? And the "robot golum" would a "terminator"? And I think in the first terminator movie they traveled from the year 2029 back to 1984?|||Quote:

ahhhhh, that would explain the numbers!|||This update is so many different kinds of amazing.

Our characters finally have a chance to return to Pre-Searing. It's so beautiful... having the Post-Searing map up really highlights how the land was changed. And we finally get to see the titular Guild Wars, too!

Title seekers should take note- you can get some additional cartography points by wall-hugging Regent Valley (and possibly Lakeside Country as well), and 100xp per kill with overpowered skills makes for a fantastic Survivor-raising area. Deaths in that area DO count, though.

Defeating the Annihilator seems to be a matter of using Bane to tank (he auto-rezes like EotN NPCs) and careful use of Riot Shield.

"But the future refused to change..." Yay Chrono Trigger reference!

"What's stopping the Charr from just sending back another, more advanced golem if we beat this one?"

"What? That's dumb. If they had a more advanced one, why wouldn't they just send that golem back to begin with? Or better yet, both at the same time?"

"Yeah, I guess. But hey, won't all these people we're killing affect the time line too?"

"Don't think too hard about time travel; it will melt your brain."|||The quest is repeatable - you have to "zone" to reset it (like Lions Arch and back).

Helps to use any buff other than attribute increase. Rock candy, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, candy apple, cupcake, etc. Summoning stones are not allowed (boo).

Hope this runs through the weekend for people who work today and won't have time to really enjoy it.|||I don't think anyone traveled back to 1984 in the terminator movies/series.

edit: @Frons meh, an actual 1984 reference woul've been cooler.|||One tip - When you get to Lakeside, there's a few dead guards by the bridge. Remember them, since your only healing skill is "Tango Down!" which only works when there's dead bodies near.|||From wikpedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Terminator

"Schwarzenegger plays the Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time from the year 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, played by Hamilton"

I can't find any way to tie in the name Corporal Bane.
